Pedro Pascal was initially set to play the lead role in Weapons, a role that ultimately went to Josh Brolin in the mystery horror film.
In a new interview, the film's writer and director, Zach Cregger, has opened up about why Pascal didn't end up in the cast.
"I had a whole different cast for this movie," Cregger told Entertainment Weekly. "And then we had the strike, and then Pedro Pascal's schedule threw us into turmoil. I had to recast the entire movie."
Pascal would've played the role of Archer Graff, the father of one of the missing children in the film.
"The strikes delayed us, and then when you delay, people's schedules get conflicts, and then you're back at square one," the filmmaker added. "I bear no ill will towards anybody. We just kept getting delayed and delayed. It's like a domino effect. So I had to start over again."
Pascal was not the only actor who had to drop out of the film. Other actors originally in the cast also included Brian Tyree Henry and Renate Reinsve.
