* Aldi is continuing its expansion in Florida with several new stores opening in October.

* The company plans to open 800 new stores in the U.S. by the end of 2028, with many in Florida being converted Winn-Dixie locations.

* Aldi is also launching its own namesake brand and refreshing the packaging on its existing private-label products.

The Aldi Florida invasion continues, with another new location opening Thursday, Oct. 2 and two more the next week.

The no-frills discount grocery chain famous for low prices, store-brand goods, and a complete lack of coupons, in-store delis, bakeries, pharmacies, loyalty programs, baggers or Muzak opened at 5428 Dogwood Drive in Milton in Santa Rosa County with gift bags and gift cards for the first 100 customers and a chance to win a $500 Aldi gift card by registering by Oct. 5.

If you're not near the Panhandle or just enjoy roadtripping to Aldis, there will be more grand openings in Jacksonville and New Port Richey on Thursday, Oct. 9, according to the company's Coming Soon page.

More than 30 have already opened in Flirida this year, many of them converted Winn Dixies from Aldi's brief acquisition of them in 2024-2025.

Aldi brand products to roll out along with familiar private labels

On Sept,. 24, Aldi announced it would be launching its own namesake brand of products and adding "An ALDI Original" label on existing private brands such as Clancy's, Simply Nature and Specially Selected. More than 90% of the stock in an Aldi is private label, the company said.

"The new look and feel of our products is the next step in our journey to modernize our simpler, quicker shopping experience. Now, it's easier than ever for shoppers to instantly spot the value and quality only ALDI can deliver," said Atty McGrath, who became CEO of ALDI on Sept. 1. "After nearly 50 years of setting the standard in private label, our updated packaging will give shoppers yet another reason to reach for our products first."
