The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar, received a delegation comprising sheikhs, notables, and elders from the tribes of Gharyan. The meeting, held at the Marshal Khalifa Haftar Military City, was attended by the Prime Minister of the Libyan Government, Dr. Osama Hammad, and the Chief of General Staff, General Khaled Haftar.
During the meeting, the Gharyan tribal leaders expressed their deep appreciation for the efforts of the Armed Forces, led by Field Marshal Khalifa Belqasim Haftar, in maintaining security and stability. They reaffirmed their full support for the military establishment, describing it as the primary guarantor of the country's security, stability, and the protection of its institutions.
For his part, the Commander-in-Chief welcomed the delegation, commending their pivotal role in promoting social peace, fostering unity, and supporting national reconciliation efforts.
Field Marshal Haftar highlighted the achievements and gains realized in the eastern, central, and southern regions of the country, beginning with the defeat of terrorism and the building of the Libyan National Army. He noted that these efforts have resulted in security, stability, and a renaissance in construction and development, thereby consolidating state authority. Conversely, he noted that cities and villages in other parts of the country continue to suffer from neglect, insecurity, and a lack of infrastructure and services, with no clear signs of resolution from the relevant authorities.
The Commander-in-Chief emphasized that the repercussions of the ongoing political crisis threaten Libya's unity and future. He stressed that genuine solutions can only stem from the will of the Libyan people to exercise their right to self-determination, charting a path to resolve the crisis and build a state that preserves national unity and ensures a dignified life for all citizens.
