Hype for Lions rookie Isaac TeSlaa continues to build after latest touchdown grab

Hype for Lions rookie Isaac TeSlaa continues to build after latest touchdown grab

Detroit Lions rookie wide receiver Isaac TeSlaa has done it again.

After scoring his first preseason touchdown last week, TeSlaa came up with yet another one in preseason Week 2 against the Miami Dolphins.

In the final minute of the first half and with the Lions at the 18-yard line, Kyle Allen lofted up a back-shoulder pass to the rookie, who managed to fight off a Dolphins defender and make the catch.

The impressive reception capped off a first half that saw TeSlaa tally four catches for 41 yards and the touchdown.

"I kinda want to start TeSlaa over Tim Patrick," Pride of Detroit writer John Whiticar said.

"Isaac TeSlaa continues to excel for Detroit," NFL insider Jordan Schultz wrote. "Several Lions' coaches highlighted him to me earlier this week at their joint practice with the Dolphins."

TeSlaa continues his impressive offseason that has seen him excel both in training camp and the preseason.

While it was assumed Tim Patrick would start the season as the team's No. 3 wide receiver, TeSlaa's rapid ascension is threatening the veteran. Also, Patrick has struggled mightily this offseason and is also injured.

"He started to catch up and he's started to understand the physicality it takes," Lions quarterback Jared Goff said of TeSlaa. "He certainly has a chance to have a role in our offense and has done a great job getting better every day."

As impressive as he's been, TeSlaa has "barely" gotten run with the ones in practice, according to Jeremy Reisman of Pride of Detroit.

It's safe to say the Lions need to give him more looks.
