Six Flags Great America in Gurnee is getting ready to unleash a new roller coaster for the first time since 2019.

Even more interesting, this new amusement is a first of its kind too, a dive coaster.

It's called the Wrath of Rakshasa, and it is being hyped up as the steepest and most inverted dive coaster on the planet.

If that doesn't have you obsessed and beyond excited to try the Wrath of Rakshasa this summer, I don't think any of this will ever get you juiced up for a roller coaster. It is by far the most extreme coaster ever built in Illinois, and kids and teens from all over the state are planning road trips to Six Flags Great America.

If you were as surprised and, to be honest, a little put out that Six Flags in Gurnee was left off the best amusement parks in America list that just came out, the Wrath of Rakshasa should give Illinois residents a little something to brag about because this ride is going to be a destination for roller coaster fanatics.

The best part is that you won't have to wait long to try it, as the Wrath of Rakshasa opens this Saturday, May 31.
