Israel's military launched airstrikes in Rafah, southern Gaza, on Sunday following Hamas militants' missile and gunfire attacks on IDF troops beyond a designated line, violating the U.S.-brokered ceasefire that began earlier this month. The U.S. State Department had warned hours earlier of an imminent Hamas attack on Palestinian civilians, notifying mediators Egypt and Qatar, while Hamas denied the claims.
