An infant who became unresponsive for unknown reasons Tuesday is breathing again after being resuscitated by a caregiver and neighbors in Culver City.
A parking enforcement officer saw the baby being resuscitated around 9 a.m. in the 900 block of Lucrene Avenue, and immediately called authorities for further assistance, according to the Culver City Police Department.
But by the time officers arrived at the location, the child was already breathing thanks to the efforts of the child's caregiver and assisting neighbors.
Culver City Fire Department paramedics also responded to the scene shortly after the arrival of officers to evaluate and treat the infant.
"Moments like this show how every second counts and how much we can accomplish when we work together," police said in a statement.
It was unclear what caused the child to become unresponsive, or if the infant was taken to a hospital for further evaluation and treatment.
