Erode District Police have arrested three persons in connection with a jewellery theft reported in the Sathyamangalam Police Sub-Division.

On Thursday, (September 4), Sathish Kumar of Nerunagar, Sathyamangalam, filed a complaint that 45.5 sovereigns of jewellery and ₹16,000 in cash were missing from his residence. A case was registered, and the Sathy Police launched an investigation.

Acting on CCTV footage, the police traced and arrested S. Ramamoorthy and K. Manikandan of Tiruchendur, and S. Karthi of Sathyamangalam on Saturday. The authorities recovered all the stolen jewellery, ₹2,500 in cash and a mini truck used in the crime, from the accused. Three stolen bicycles from a house in Raju Nagar were also recovered.

The accused have been remanded to judicial custody.
