Barcelona star Roony Bardghji has said that no player was aware that Lionel Messi was visiting the renovated Camp Nou. The teenager admitted that he would have loved to be present at the stadium and wishes to play with the Argentine someday.
In an interview with SPORT, Bardghji was asked if he was aware of Messi's visit to check the renovated Camp Nou earlier this week. The Barcelona star was quick to say that the players were unaware, and he wishes they could join the Argentine on his visit, and said:
"The truth is that none of us knew he was there. I would have loved to see him."
When asked if he wanted Lionel Messi to rejoin Barcelona, the teenager said he was keen on playing with the Inter Miami captain and said:
"It would be amazing to meet him someday, and maybe play with him, of course. But that's it."
When quizzed about the renovated Camp Nou, Bardghji admitted that the players were keen to play at the stadium and hoped that the renovation is completed swiftly. He said:
"We want to go to the new stadium quickly. The players have already discussed it, and of course, we want to play there as soon as possible. It will be special, and I hope it will be ready very soon. Before coming to the national team, we were just told that we will most likely play there very soon, although the stands will not be full yet. So it will be great."
Roony Bardghji joined Barcelona in the summer for a reported €2 million, on a contract until 2029.
Argentina captain Lionel Messi stunned the Barcelona fans by posting a few photos from Camp Nou. He took to social media to share the images on Instagram and captioned it:
"Last night I returned to a place I miss with my soul. A place where I was immensely happy, where you guys made me feel a thousand times the happiest person in the world. I hope one day I can come back, and not just to say goodbye as a player, as I never got to."
Lionel Messi has signed a new deal at Inter Miami, keeping him at the club until 2028. He has admitted that his family is interested in returning to Spain to live in Barcelona after his career is done.
