Ed Sheeran Teases 'F1' Soundtrack Collaboration With John Mayer & Dave Grohl

"Sneak peek of the song I did for the F1 movie. Mayer on guitar, Grohl on drums. A lot of fun making this, coming out next month with the movie," Sheeran wrote of "Drive" on his Instagram stories. Check out a "Drive" teaser below:

F1 the Album arrives on June 27, the same day the film hits North American theaters. Chris Stapleton, Madison Beer, Peggy Gou, Roddy Ricch and Obongjayar are among other musicians whose songs are featured on the soundtrack.

Brad Pitt stars in F1 as Sonny Hayes, a driver who was forced to retire from Formula 1 due to injuries sustained in a horrific crash. Hayes is recruited by old pal and Apex Grand Prix team owner Ruben Cervantes (Javier Bardem) to mentor budding superstar Joshua "Noah" Pierce (Damson Idris).

Ed Sheeran and John Mayer have shared the stage several times. Mayer welcomed Sheeran for a two-song guest appearance at Tokyo's Budokan in April of 2019. Ed Sheeran then brought out John Mayer to collaborate on "Thinking Out Loud" at Gillette Stadium near Boston on June 30, 2023.

John Mayer was Sheeran's surprise opener at Gillette Stadium after support act Khalid was unable to perform due to injuries suffered from a car accident. Ed Sheeran returned the favor at Mayer's Heart and Armor Foundation benefit the following September, where the pair teamed up on "Slow Dancing In A Burning Room" and a cover of Tom Petty's "Free Fallin.'"
