'I Want to Score 10 Goals' - Harambee Stars Striker Ryan Ogam Confident After Quick Adaptation at Wolfsberger AC

Ryan Ogam has shared his ambitions and growing confidence as he settles into life with Austrian side Wolfsberger AC.

Harambee Stars striker Ryan Ogam has opened up about settling into life at his new club, Austrian Bundesliga side Wolfsberger AC, while outlining his main ambitions for the season.

Ogam completed his transfer on September 3 and was officially unveiled on September 25, sealing the move after an impressive run at the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN), where he netted twice against tournament favourites Morocco and Zambia.

The former Tusker FC forward made his debut for Wolfsberger AC on October 4, featuring in their victory over Grazer AK at the Merkur Arena.

Ryan Ogam expressed his satisfaction with how quickly he has adapted to life in Austria and is eager to make a strong impact at Wolfsberger AC.

The Harambee Stars striker credited ambassador Maurice Makoloo, his teammates, and the entire technical bench for their immense support, which he said made settling in much easier.

Ogam noted that the warm reception has helped him adjust both on and off the pitch, boosting his confidence to deliver more for the club.

He also reflected on his debut, adding that he is now focused on earning more minutes and working towards achieving his season targets.

"My stay in Austria has been great, and I didn't think I would adapt quickly. I want to thank the ambassador because I received a lot of support, and the teammates and the entire technical bench have also walked with me...it's more of a family over there. It becomes easier for me even on the pitch, and I'm looking forward to scoring my first goal," Ryan Ogam told reporters on Monday.

"It was a great feeling to make my debut there, and I'm looking forward to more minutes. I want to score 10 goals. I don't know how long it will take, but the most important thing is to score the first goal, then the rest will follow."

Ryan Ogam explained that the Australian Bundesliga is more professional than the Kenyan Premier League, but noted that the latter is on the right track.

Ogam also extended a hand of gratitude to the fans who have followed his journey and supported him, adding that they are one of his major sources of motivation.

"There are many differences when it comes to their structure. They are more professional, for Kenya, we are not that far, and we shall just get there," Ryan Ogam added.

"I want to appreciate all the fans; their support has been crazy. They are even recognised in Austria because of their love for football."

Meanwhile, ahead of the World Cup qualifier matches against Burundi and the Ivory Coast, Ryan Ogam has also expressed confidence in what the team can do, insisting that they will go for the maximum points.

"For the two games, we shall take them seriously like the other games, and we are looking forward to getting the maximum points," Ogam explained.

Harambee Stars face Burundi on Thursday, October 9, and the Ivory Coast on Tuesday, October 14.
