London-based sales and production company Twenty-Nine Palms Entertainment has taken international sales on Oscar-winning Italian director Giuseppe Tornatore's upcoming doc about Brunello Cucinelli, the fashion designer known as Italy's "King of Cashmere."

Twenty-Nine Palms -- a new outfit that debuted at Cannes headed by former Amazon MGM Studios exec Edoardo Bussi -- will launch sales on the high-profile doc, which is titled "Brunello: The Gracious Visionary," at the Toronto International Film Festival and market.

The doc chronicles Cucinelli's rise from being a farmer's son to becoming creative director and executive chairman of a global luxury lifestyle brand with a market capitalization of more than $1.5 billion. It is described in promotional materials as "an intimate portrait of Brunello Cucinelli, a 'philosopher-designer' revered for his distinctive integration of humanistic values, craftsmanship and ethical entrepreneurship."

"Brunello: The Gracious Visionary" pairs Tornatore with Oscar-winning composer Nicola Piovani ("Life Is Beautiful"). In the past, Tornatore often worked with the legendary late composer Ennio Morricone, who was the subject of his previous doc "Ennio" that sold widely following its Venice Film Festival bow in 2021.

"Brunello: The Gracious Visionary," which is produced by Masi Film, will instead skip an Italian festival premiere with plans for it to be released by RAI Cinema's 01 Distribution in Italy on Dec. 9, followed by an international roll out in 2026.

"Giuseppe Tornatore, following the global success of 'Ennio,' brings another story of Italian excellence to the world stage, inspiring audiences to embrace change and see the potential for positive impact in every endeavor," Bussi said in a statement.

The Twenty-Nine Palms chief went on to note that the Cucinelli doc unites two Oscar winners -- Tornatore and Piovani -- with a fascinating subject matter, adding that the project "stands as an exceptional opportunity for distribution partners seeking meaningful, globally resonant content."
