According to WAFB, sources close to the investigation into Southern University and A&M College Caleb Wilson's death say the initial story told to police about how he died was fabricated. On Tuesday (March 4), the news outlet reported that the story about Wilson collapsing at a Baton Rouge BREC park was a lie.
Sources further claim that pledges with Southern University's Omega Psi Phi chapter were actually at a warehouse in Baton Rouge when Wilson died. He was reportedly punched in the chest, causing him to collapse to the ground and begin to have a seizure. Sources said he was later pronounced dead by doctors at a local hospital.
Reportedly, there were nine pledges in line during an unsanctioned fraternity ritual. Each one was allegedly forced to take punches to the chest. When Wilson was hit, sources claim he reportedly began seizing after falling to the ground at the warehouse.

Wilson was taken to Baton Rouge General on Bluebonnet, where he was later pronounced dead. Sources claim that after the fraternity brothers brought the student to the hospital, they allegedly gathered at an undisclosed location to discuss what happened that evening. At this meetup, the brothers allegedly began to create the story about Wilson collapsing at a park. The sources said none of the pledges participating in the fraternity ritual were ever at the park.
Once Wilson was at the hospital, staff there contacted police about his death. After this, the Baton Rouge Police Department launched an investigation. According to WAFB's sources, several individuals are allegedly responsible for the fraternity ritual. However, not all of them have the same level of involvement. Furthermore, an initial autopsy was conducted but did not reveal a cause of death. Thus, officials are conducting further testing.
