Nvidia explores $500 million investment in UK-based self-driving startup Wayve

Nvidia is considering a $500 million investment in Wayve, a London-based autonomous driving startup, as part of its next funding round. This move would deepen an existing partnership that began in 2018. Wayve uses Nvidia's technology to power its AI systems, with infrastructure built on Microsoft Azure. Its innovative Embodied AI allows vehicles to interpret and learn from human behavior in real-time driving environments.

Founded in 2017, Wayve raised over $1 billion last year, with investors including SoftBank Group, Nvidia, and Uber. The company operates in the UK and the U.S., with ongoing expansions into markets like Germany and Japan. Additionally, Nvidia announced a £2 billion ($2.70 billion) pledge to invest in the UK AI startup ecosystem.

The potential investment underscores Nvidia's commitment to advancing AI-driven autonomous vehicle technology and supporting innovation in the UK tech sector.
