Carolina Panthers Fantasy Football Review: Week 13

Carolina Panthers Fantasy Football Review: Week 13

The Carolina Panthers suffered their second straight heartbreaking loss, failing to finish off the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in overtime. Let's take a look back at how individual Panthers players fared and if they are worth keeping moving forward. For these articles, I will be using fantasy totals in an ESPN Fantasy league I am part of, so your numbers might have been slightly different.

Bryce had by far his best fantasy performance of the season last week, finishing with 23.62 fantasy points. He had just under 300 yards passing and added two touchdowns, one on the ground and one through the air. Bama Bryce continues to shine through week after week, and he's become a halfway decent QB2 option.

While Bryce had his best game of the season, Chuba had his worst. He only had 12 carries for 43 yards and lost the fumble in overtime that allowed the Bucs to drive for the game winning field goal. His 2.3 fantasy points were his worst since Week 1 (when no one played well on offense). This is likely just an aberration, but is definitely something to keep an eye on since the RB depth on this team has gotten better. Because...

Jonathon Brooks

While his six carries and three catches for 41 total yards won't blow anyone away, he showed some flashes of the explosiveness that led him to be the first runningback taken in last April's Draft. As he continues to get back into the swing of things, expect more touches. Right now, though, he's still just an emergency depth RB in most fantasy leagues.

For the second straight week, Legette's production was hamstrung by some inexperience and drops. He only caught four of his eight targets for 53 yards, which was still good enough for 9.3 fantasy points. Still, his production is so volatile due to his being so raw. He's a decent WR3 option because of his upside when finding the end zone.

Adam Thielen

Ol' Reliable was back in a big way last week, hauling in eight catches for 99 yards and what could have been the game winning touchdown for 23.9 fantasy points. It definitely seems like he and Bryce are back on the same page they were on last season. If they continue to sync up like that, Thielen could be a high end WR2 or low end WR1 because of his high floor in PPR leagues.
