Srinagar, Nov 14: The martial arts team of DPS Srinagar has delivered another spectacular performance, achieving a remarkable victory at J&K UT Thang Ta Championship 2025.
The prestigious event was held from November 9-11 at Polo Ground Indoor Stadium, in Srinagar, and the students showcased exceptional skill and competitive spirit.
Competing in a large field of approximately 550 athletes from various districts of J&K, DPS team's performance was simply outstanding. Out of our 17 student participants, an incredible 14 secured medals, demonstrating the depth of talent and quality of training at our school.
The contingent bagged an impressive haul of 7 gold, 5 silver, and 2 bronze medals, reflecting both their skill and dedication. The school management lauded the achievement, calling it a proud moment for the institution.
The gold medalists included Onizah Qadri (12th H1), Aaminah Irfan (12th S1), Munaza Aira (9th G), Farjumand Riyaz (6th A), Zynah Sartaj Mantoo (7th H), Arsh Bhat (7th B), and Tabin Peerzada (4th B). Silver medals were secured by Fatima Irfan (11th S4), Noorain Wani (7th G), Khadija Arafat (6th I), Syeda Zainab (6th F), and Trisha Sethi (6th A). Bronze medal winners included Arbain Ashraf (9th E) and Seerat Fatima (6th G), whose performances added to the school's overall success.
A special round of applause also goes to Aleena Malik (7th A), Syed Aisha (7th C), and Palkit Kour Mehta (6th B) for their spirited participation and valuable contribution to the team.
Principal, Shafaq Afshan, was thrilled with the result: "This is a staggering achievement. To have 14 out of 17 students on the podium in a UT-level championship is a testament to their exceptional hard work, discipline, and the warrior spirit Thang Ta instills. We are immensely proud of every single one of them."
