The daughter of 18-time Grand Slam champion Leander Paes has made her professional debut after choosing to represent Great Britain. Leander, who retired in 2020, remains India's most successful tennis player and is considered one of the greatest ever in the doubles format.
The 52-year-old's career saw him break the record for the most doubles wins in Davis Cup history, win the bronze medal in singles tennis at the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games, and later become the first Asian man to be inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame. His daughter, Aiyana, now wants to write her own history. Currently living in Barcelona, the 19-year-old trains at one of the world's top tennis academies, aiming to create a legacy that can rival or eclipse that of her father.
