A College Station police officer was injured while attempting to arrest a man Sunday morning.
Officer Cody Donaldson received multiple lacerations to his left arm and injuries and swelling to his left wrist and right knee that required medical treatment at a hospital while he was attempting to arrest 18-year-old Dondre Joseph Gooden on a charge of disorderly conduct language.
According to a probable cause statement, Donaldson and another officer responded as security to an arrest scene at College Main and Patricia Street at 2:23 a.m., wearing clearly marked police uniforms, when Donaldson attempted to arrest Gooden. Gooden allegedly resisted and ran but was eventually caught by another officer.
He was arrested and charged with evading arrest/detention and third-degree felony of assault on a public servant. He is currently out on combined $12,000 bonds, according to Brazos County Jail records.
