A Norwalk family is asking for help finding their minivan after someone stole it from their driveway.
"It's just frustrating," father Renato Dupont Sr. said. "It upsets me that somebody would do that."
Dupont, a military veteran, said the family had two social security cards, a driver's license and an EBT card inside the 2023 Honda Odyssey when it was stolen on March 1. He and his wife manage a whirlwind schedule with their kids. Most weeks are loaded with doctor's appointments, school and other errands.
"When I came out, the car was gone," Dupont said.
Dupont shared a video from a neighbor's camera showing a white van pulling up to their Norwalk home. Shortly after, a separate video shows the same white van driving away with the family's minivan trailing behind.
"The kids are taking it hard," Dupont said. "They're afraid that something else might happen."
With Renato the only one able to work, the family must juggle their schedule while sharing one car.
"Anything can happen at any split second," Dupont said. "I just want our neighborhood to be aware that there's stuff going on and we should be vigilant and be aware of our surroundings."
