Rebekah Vardy, who has had a challenging few years, appears to be enjoying the last laugh as her family begins to embrace La Dolce Vita.
Following her husband Jamie Vardy's transfer to Italian top-tier newcomers Cremonese - a club based in the picturesque historic city of Cremona. The Vardys have been hard at work searching for the perfect new abode for their family as they start their European adventure.
The family is considering extravagant homes in Milan, Bergamo and the breathtakingly beautiful Lake Garda - all just an hour away - as well as in Cremona itself, a city with roots dating back to Roman times that is famous for its culture and particularly its musical heritage.
Regardless of which home they eventually select, the Italian villa they choose will provide some much-needed peace. It's fair to say it's been a hectic month or so for the family. Jamie's decision to move to Serie A amid a wave of interest from clubs worldwide has seen Rebekah jet off to Italy multiple times to manage the logistics of the move, the Mirror reports.
Just this week, she shared a photo of herself at London's City Airport at 6am, preparing for yet another trip. In addition to house-hunting for the entire family - except for her eldest who is at University in the UK - Rebekah has also been a regular visitor at the Italian embassy sorting out visas.
A source said: "It's been pretty relentless - particularly as the kids are all being enrolled into international schools as well - but there is a real sense of excitement at immersing themselves into a new culture, and way of life."
It's fair to say the couple have been embracing their new Italian life style. The whole family have been "thoroughly enjoying" the northern city of Cremona, in Lombardy, where Jamie's new team is based. With its narrow, cobbled streets and abundance of medieval buildings, it's a far cry from their life in Leicester and their home just outside Grantham, in Lincolnshire.
The pair have been posting snaps of themselves enjoying the local delights. Alongside one picture, Rebekah wrote - in Italian: "In Italy we always feel at home."
The decision to sign for Cremonese on a one-year deal was a "total no-brainer", according to friends of the couple.
They continued: "Jamie could have got more money going to the Middle East, but money is not the most important thing. He's playing in a great, competitive league, in the twilight of his career, with an exciting newly-promoted team and living in Italy. What's not to like."
Jamie had plenty of options when considering his future after Leicester, who were relegated last season. He left as the club's greatest-ever player, having scored 24 goals in their 2015/16 Premier League title-winning season under Claudio Ranieri and lifted the FA Cup in 2021 with Brendan Rodgers in charge.
"I've had 13 unbelievable years at this club with lots of success, some downs but a majority, all highs, but it's finally time to call it a day, which I'm devastated about but I think the timing is right," Vardy said in April. Following his announcement, numerous clubs from across the globe made enquiries about securing him for their team, including Dutch giants Feyenoord who attempted to sabotage the Cremonese agreement.
However, the 38-year-old decided to sign a one-year contract with the Italian club, featuring a further year extension should the recently-promoted club avoid relegation - and his new club have made a flying start to the new season.
The team are currently joint top of the league, soaring high after winning both their opening Serie A matches, against Sassuolo and European football giants AC Milan. Jamie could now make his Cremonese debut on Monday, 15 September, when they travel to face Hellas Verona.
A source said: "He is relishing the chance to prove himself in a different league. He has seen the likes of Scott McTominay doing so well at Napoli, which has caught everyone's imagination.
"A lot of players towards the end of the career just go off to the MLS or the Middle East just to pick up a pay cheque, but Jamie - despite his age - is still keen to play at an established league, and Rebekah is fully behind him, and is up for the adventure."
The move to Italy follows a turbulent period for the couple, whose world was turned into chaos by the Wagatha Christie scandal. Rebekah was infamously branded by Coleen Rooney as the culprit behind leaked stories to The Sun from her private Instagram feed.
Rebekah launched a libel case and was defeated. And this year saw Rebekah settle the final chunk of Coleen's hefty £1.27m legal bills following their High Court battle.
The judge remarked at the time that he wished the costs agreement would mark the "end of a long and unhappy road."
A pal revealed: "There's no doubt it was a tough time for Rebekah. But she is made of strong stuff and has drawn a line under the whole affair. And now she is throwing herself into the move with gusto."

However, the Italian adventure isn't her sole priority. It surfaced in May that she is shooting a fresh Netflix programme - after being spotted with a Netflix production team chatting with fans in a pub before one of Jamie's final outings for Leicester.
The pal continued: "With the Netflix show - and now the move to Italy, things are really on the up for Rebekah. It seems she and the family really are living La Dolce Vita."
The famous Italian phrase translates to 'the good life. ' Jamie's appreciation for his wife's role in their family's new life is undeniable.
On 2nd September, he shared a video on social media where he and Rebekah are seen exploring a violin museum in Cremona, a city renowned for its violins.
In a tender moment captured on camera, Jamie simply stated: "Couldn't do this without you."
