NORTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. (WJAR) -- Weeks after making their debut at the Wickford Shipyard, the collection of large rubber ducks floating in the water now have new names.

After a contest, the ducks have now been christened as Captain, Skipper, Sailor, Fisher, and Bubbles.

NBC 10's Sam Read found out the origins of the ducks and why they have been a special part of the community in a "Show Us Something Good" piece on July 15.

The owner of the Shipyard put up the large 20-foot rubber duck last year, and added a family of smaller ducks this past year.
