NICHOLSON TWP. -- A 61-year-old Nicholson woman died in a two-vehicle crash Thursday evening in Wyoming County, state police at Tunkhannock said.
Deborah Higgins was traveling east on Route 1014 around 7:25 p.m. when the driver of a Chevrolet Silverado truck stuck her John Deere all-terrain vehicle, ejecting her, state police said.
The driver of the Silverado, Gavin Mulhern, 19, also of Nicholson, interpreted a hand gesture from Higgins as a signal to pass her vehicle. However, the truck struck the ATV when Higgins attempted to turn left off the roadway into the path of his vehicle, police said.
Higgins was not wearing a seat belt and there were no doors on her vehicle, police said.
