ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) -- Community members had the chance to pair country music with their brunch as part of the Grey Eagle's Country Brunch series on March 9.

The series, which partners with Worthwhile Sounds of Asheville, N.C., aims to give local country bands who typically play late gigs the oppurtunity to play to day-time audiences.

The Country Brunch set on Sunday hosted the Old Chevrolette Set, with one member telling News 13 for those who don't enjoy the genre to "give it a try."

"On my radio show, I've had hundreds of people tell me, 'I didn't like country music,' until they heard the show, and what you think of is country as what's being put out as country music now I can see it -- there's no soul to it that I can find, and I'm just not interested in it," said Tom Pittman of Old Chevrolette Set. "But if you've been around a bit and even a lot of people that weren't even born when this stuff was going on really like it -- it's a soulful heartfelt music."

Country Brunch will host two more shows for those interested in attending, which are set for April 13 and May 11.
