MAHONEY ON THE BLACK AND GOLD SCRIMMAGE:
"It was good to get out into this type of environment, even though we were playing ourselves, to play a match-like scenario... It was great to see some of the new players, and it was good to see some of the older players settling into their roles and getting comfortable. All in all, it was a good experience for us."
"[Morton] was probably our best passer; she did a really nice job there. [Bolles] did really good as a server and she scored quite a few points there. I thought [Finley] did a really nice job managing the offense and it's been good to see her grow. When [Burilovic] wants to bring it she can bring it and score, and you could see that a couple [of] times today. So, all in all, it's hard for me to point out everyone. There's a lot of really good [plays] and a lot of opportunities to get better."
"As we get into Tuesday and Wednesday, we need to define some roles and have a starting group and be ready to go for Friday, and we haven't really done that. And even today, everyone was in black and white, so this week we will have to decide how [we are] best situated to win on Friday and start working on that."
UP NEXT:
The Buffaloes head to Laramie, Wyo., next week to open the 2025 season in Rumble in the Rockies invite. Colorado will match up with Cleveland State (Aug. 29), Tulsa (Aug. 30) and host school Wyoming (Aug. 31).
