Galatasaray have confirmed Victor Osimhen has started treatment after sustaining an injury while in action for Nigeria against Democratic Republic of Congo last weekend.
Osimhen lasted only 45 minutes in the 2026 FIFA World Cup playoffs final.
The 26-year-old was replaced by Sevilla hitman Akor Adams.
Galatasaray announced he underwent an MRI examination at the club's medical center on Wednesday.
The Turkish Super Lig champions however refused to state when the striker will return to action.
"Our football player Victor Osimhen, a moderate level of strain (strain and bleeding) was detected in his left posterior muscle and treatment has been started," reads a statement on the club's official website.
The powerful forward is now expected to miss Okan Buruk's side Turkish Super Lig clash with Gençlerbirliği this weekend.
