Mark Sanchez Caught On Video Attacking 69-Year-Old Delivery Driver Before Getting Stabbed In Indianapolis

We have more details on the arrest of Mark Sanchez.

On Saturday, Sanchez was arrested after a delivery driver alleged the former NFL QB attacked him during an argument over parking.

The second individual involved in the incident reportedly told police he was making a food delivery when Sanchez told him to leave and that he couldn't park in the alley. The victim claimed Sanchez became aggressive and used pepper spray. This is when the individual claimed to stab Sancehz in self-defense.

After reviewing surveillance video, speaking with eyewitnesses, and the victim, police decided to arrest and charge Sanchez for battery.

"This incident should never have happened," said Marion County Prosecutor Ryan Mears. "What began as a disagreement between a 38-year-old former professional athlete and a 69-year-old man should not have escalated into violence or left anyone seriously injured. As with any case, we will follow the facts and the law wherever they lead."

According to police, Sanchez's incident was caught on video via a nearby hotel.

Video from the Indianapolis Marriott Downtown shows Sanchez approaching the driver's door of a large box truck in the alley, according to a probable cause affidavit. He opened the door and began a conversation with a man, who was struggling to understand because he wasn't wearing his hearing aids, he told police.

Video shows the two appear to have an interaction back at the driver's side door after Sanchez follows the man, who is seen walking backwards away from him. Sanchez is seen running after (the man) and the video shows Mr. Sanchez grabbing and throwing (the man) towards the wall of the Westin," police wrote in the affidavit.

"Mr. Sanchez is then seen throwing (the man) to the ground on the west side of the alley," investigators wrote. The man told police he reached into his pocket and pulled out pepper spray and sprayed Sanchez, but the former NFL quarterback just wiped it away.

The man thought, "This guy is trying to kill me," so he pulled out his knife, and when Sanchez came at him, the man struck him two or three times with the knife, he told police.

Graphic photos of injuries sustained by Sanchez' victim have been released online.

Sanchez has been charged with battery with injury, public intoxication, and unlawful entry of a vehicle, which are all misdemeanors.
