New York Giants rookies and potential franchise cornerstones Jaxson Dart and Abdul Carter had themselves a successful weekend in their NFL debuts against the Buffalo Bills on Saturday.

Dart entered the game after Russell Wilson's first series and finished the first half -- recording 154 passing yards and a touchdown while completing 12 of his 19 passes.

"The New York Giants have to be happy with what they saw from Jaxson Dart. He made plays with his legs, manipulated the pocket to find throwing lanes and wasn't afraid to let that dog hunt pushing the ball down the field. Great start for the Rebel," Ex-NFL Rookie of the Year Robert Griffin III shared on social media.

Dart has received praise throughout training camp for his poise in the pocket, and that was on full display when he threw a 28-yard touchdown pass to Lil'Jordan Humphrey with a Bill right in his face.

Carter has looked exactly how you'd hope a No. 3 overall pick would look in training camp. In his first NFL game action, he played only six snaps but applied pressure on the quarterback on all three pass-rush snaps.

"I had fun," Carter said after the Giants beat the Bills 34-25 in the preseason opener. "I wish I got to play a little more, but I'm glad we got the win."

Carter notably won two reps against four-time Pro Bowl left tackle Dion Dawkins -- no easy feat, especially for a 21-year-old rookie.

"I treat every opponent the same," Carter said. "It doesn't matter who I'm going against. I like to get work and put my best against anybody."

If their debuts are any indication, Dart and Carter could be the building blocks of a promising new era for the Giants.
