Somerset's leading performing arts institution has once again been recognised for excellence.

RE:ACT Performing & Production Arts, with branches across the county, has been named Somerset's Performing Arts School of the Year for the second year running in the 2024/2025 and 2025/2026 Prestige Awards.

The school, which trains young people aged eight to 19, was recognised for its high-quality industry training, professional-standard productions, and commitment to future-focused arts education.

A spokesperson for RE:ACT said: "Winning for the second year in a row is an honour - but what matters most is that it reflects the incredible work our students, team and families put in every week.

"We are passionate to continue this hard work producing the next generation of theatre-makers, performers and creatives."

RE:ACT is also a current finalist for UK Creative Business of the Year at the 2025 Small Business Awards, placing it among the most impactful creative organisations nationwide.

The past year has seen the school deliver three full-scale productions, including Aladdin, Grease and Chicago.

It also maintained a 100 per cent drama school success rate, with students progressing to elite institutions such as ArtsEd, Central, Italia Conti, Performers, and Bristol Old Vic.

The school offered four West End masterclasses, strengthened its casting partnership with ThirteenTen Talent, and provided students with access to paid screen and theatre auditions.

Subsidised theatre trips and funded places were offered to ensure the arts remain accessible to all, regardless of background.

The school also collaborated with Hollywood actor Luke Evans, giving students exclusive access to a VIP creative event, and secured backstage access at the Chicago UK tour.

RE:ACT's winter production of Snow White will take place at Bridgwater Town Hall Theatre from Thursday, December 11 to Saturday, December 13.
