GREER, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - One Upstate high school band announced it has been selected to perform in a New Year's Day parade across the sea.
Riverside High School has been invited to be a part of the London's New Year's Day Parade on January 1, 2025.
The 50 musicians will be joining more than 8,500 performers from around the globe for the parade, a time-honored tradition since 1987. The event draws over half of million spectators and is broadcast to millions worldwide. It is one of the largest and most-watched parades of its kind.
"We are so honored to be a part of the London New Year's Day Parade," said Kris Bence, Director of Bands at Riverside High School in a release. "This will be an unforgettable experience for our students, and a chance for them to perform on the world stage. It's also an opportunity to connect with other young musicians from around the world, sharing the universal language of music."
