India is celebrating its 79th anniversary of azaadi from the clutches of two centuries of the British Raj-led colonialism. Bollywood celebrities took to social media and paid tribute to India's Independence Day.
Khiladi (1992) star Akshay Kumar wrote on Twitter, "Here's to the freedom that defines us and the pride that unites us." "स्वतंत्रता दिवस की शुभकामनाएं! जय हिंद" (hearty wishes on Independence Day) he added.
Southern star Mohanlal, in his Twitter post, wished the fans, "Happy Independence Day." He shared a picture of himself saluting the tricolor.
Another veteran from the south, Kamal Hassan, on his Twitter post remarked, "Independence to dream, to innovate, to uplift. From plough to particle, from the salt march to the space age. "May we keep widening the freedoms that make India stronger," he continued. "Let the courage that won us freedom now win us progress in every village, every city, every mind. Happy Independence Day. Jai Hind," he frther added.
Gangster (2006) star, actor, and politician Kangana Ranaut shared an Independence Day wish on her Instagram story along with a reel waving the tricolor. In the post she wished, "Happy Independence Day," adding, "Dosto mein aap sabko aaj swantrata divas ki bahot shubkamnayein deti hu!"

Eaga (2012) star Samantha Ruth Prabhu shared a reel of tiny tots performing to Aye Vatan Vatan Mere Abaad Rahe Tu at Ekam Early Learning. "Little voices, big dreams celebrating freedom," Samantha captioned the story.
Jab We Met (2007) star Kareena Kapoor Khan took to Instagram stories and wrote, "Here's to our country and its incredible spirit. Happy Independence day."
Ajay Devgan shared a branded content as an Independence Day wish. In the reel he quipped,
