The California Highway Patrol (CHP) released details on a deadly head-on crash in the Live Oak area on Wednesday night.
CHP said the crash happened just before 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 20, at the intersection of Live Oak Boulevard and Eager Road. According to CHP, the preliminary investigations revealed that the Honda was traveling south on Live Oak Blvd., approaching Eager Rd. At the same time, they said the Hyundai was traveling north on Live Oak Blvd., approaching the same intersection. CHP said the driver of the Hyundai made a left turn towards westbound Eager Rd., directly in front of the Honda and the two cars crashed head-on.
As a result of the crash, CHP said the driver of the Honda was transported to Rideout Hospital with minor injuries. The driver of the Hyundai also sustained minor injuries but reportedly refused transport. The female passenger inside the Hyundai was transported to Rideout Hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries at 4:56 p.m.
