The days of old Hawaii are gone. For me, this process started in the 1950s. All levels of government, through majority rule, have legally determined what is good for we the local people.

The current and future quest is to cover all of Hawaii in concrete. But a once-in-a-millennium earthquake or tsunami will destroy the foundations of all the high-rise buildings along the shorelines. We will eventually run out of natural fresh water. Desalinized water and imported bottled water will be Hawaii's future. Hawaii cannot sustain itself; Matson will need to supply the food.

Garbage might be physically merged with the floating garbage islands circulating the Pacific Ocean. When the plankton dies, all of the sea life will die. Only the rich can afford space transportation and the costs to build a new Earth colony on Mars.
