Last call: Westside Drive-In is serving its last signature prime rib on Saturday

BOISE, Idaho -- Westside Drive-In will serve its famous prime rib for the final time Saturday, marking the end of an era for the Boise restaurant's signature dish.

The last orders will be available starting at noon on a first-come, first-served basis for pickup only. The restaurant warned that quantities will be limited.

According to the restaurant, the drive-in announced earlier this week that it would discontinue the prime rib due to rising costs. The price of the cut has nearly doubled over the past two years, making it challenging to maintain profitability while keeping the dish affordable at its $29.99 price point.

The prime rib gained widespread recognition after being featured on the Food Network show "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives," becoming one of the restaurant's most popular menu items.

While the prime rib is being removed, Westside Drive-In will continue to offer other beef options, including a shaved prime rib dip and a ribeye steak sandwich.

The restaurant, which has been in operation for over 31 years, thanked its customers for their support and stated that it may reintroduce the dish if costs decrease in the future.
