Amazon has knocked off an impressive 82% from a celebrity perfume that shoppers are saying brings in compliments daily. Sarah Jessica Parker's Lovely is listed as usually costing £96.79 at Amazon, but has dropped down to £17.75 in line with the shopping giant's Prime Big Deal Days.
Lovely opens up flora with lavender, martini, bergamot, mandarin orange, and palisander rosewood and keeps the floral momentum going in the heart with patchouli, orchid and narcissus. It balances out in the base where it dries down to a blend of cedar, white amber and musk.
While the scent has been out for quite some time, it was created by two talented perfumers who can be recognised for their work on modern day hits. Clement Gavarry is the genius behind Kayali's Eden Juicy Apple (£73 for 50ml) and Phlur's Vanilla Skin (£99 for 50ml), while Laurent Le Guernec worked on a myriad of Bond No 9 scents, which regularly retail at upwards of £275 a bottle, as well as Estée Lauder's Beautiful Magnolia (£87 for 100ml).
Lovely has brought in an average of 4.6 out of 5 from across 3,094 global ratings on Amazon. One impressed shopper said: "An absolute gem of a fragrance! I wear as my work perfume and also everyday fragrance.
"It's light and flowery but not overpowering which is ideal when working in the NHS. People comment in this all the time, and because it is an EDP [Eau de Parfum] it lasts all day! I have been buying this for 17+ years and it never fails to make me feel fab!"
Another was so thrilled they bought an extra bottle for their mum, as they wrote: "I love the light smell of this perfume, it is a large bottle for the money paid so it is good value for money. When I wear it the smell is still noticeable at the end of the day. I was so happy with it I bought my mum a bottle."
One shopper, however, found the longevity disappointing, as they explained: "This perfume smells quite nice when you spray it, but the scent disappears really quickly, within an hour, and I have a very good sense of smell. It's very disappointing, especially after reading the reviews.
"I know this is an inexpensive perfume, but I'd still expect to be able to smell it on me for longer, especially as some of the reviews said the fragrance lasted all day. For me, this was certainly not true."
While another shopper insisted they didn't mind the longevity of the scent because of the price point. They wrote: "This was a bargain for such a big bottle, arrived so quickly too. This has a lovely light scent that is perfect for daytime use, it smells floral with a hint of sweetness on my skin as I know perfumes smell different on everybody, but this is so lovely for me to use every day.
"Only thing is because the scent is so light it doesn't last really long, but for the size of the bottle and the price I can spritz whenever needed. Very nice scent if your looking for something light to wear every day."
It is worth noting that the longevity of a scent can be impacted by the application, with it being best to apply it to warm and slightly damp skin. Also after a period of time it's possible to become accustomed to a scent so the wearer no longer notices it while others who haven't been around the scent will.
