As rental prices grow across the country, Salt Lake City sees a slight decrease

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (KUTV) -- While rental prices across the nation are climbing, prices in Salt Lake City rentals are actually going down slightly.

This is according to a report by Redfin that states Salt Lake City apartment rental prices are down 0.3%.

Here in the city, the average rental price is one $1,630 a month. That's down in costs in the last two and a half years.

Not all cities across the U.S. are seeing a downward trend.

San Jose, California has had the biggest increase in asking rent, which sits at over $3500 in average rent.

Jacksonville, Florida has seen the biggest decrease.

Overall, asking rents are falling fastest for two-bedroom apartments across the nation.

It's no secret more and more apartment buildings have been added to the city.
