Dolphins in line for top 5 draft pick in 2026 after Week 5

Miami Dolphins players aren't quitting on the 2025 season, but fans might be ready to start looking at 2026 and beyond after the team's collapse against the Carolina Panthers.

At 1-4, the Dolphins look way closer to cleaning house and starting a rebuild rather than contending for a Super Bowl title any time soon. And that roster reconstruction could begin with an early pick in the 2026 NFL draft.

On Sunday, the Tennessee Titans and New Orleans Saints both won, leaving the New York Jets as the NFL's only winless team through five games. As one of seven teams with only one victory, the Dolphins are currently in line for one of the top picks next April.

Here's the draft order with Sunday night and Monday night games left to be played in Week 5 (strength of schedule tiebreaker in parentheses):

The Dolphins have picked in the top 10 just twice in the last 12 years and used those selections to take Tua Tagovailoa at No. 5 overall and Jaylen Waddle at No. 6 overall in the 2020 and 2021 NFL drafts, respectively.

Early mock drafts haven't ruled out the idea of a new quarterback being the top priority for the Dolphins in the 2026 NFL draft.
