What I thought was a life-changing sighting on Saturday night in Sartell was not what I thought it was.
I'll start by admitting I've been a big UFO buff since childhood. I've read all the books, seen all the movies and read all the Reddit theories. Do I FULLY believe there is life from other worlds out there, let alone extraterrestrial life just cruising around Earth in brightly-lit vehicles? I'm not sure, but I do know the subject is very interesting.
With that said, I had never seen a UFO on my own... and I've definitely looked!
On Saturday night my wife and I were traveling up 19th Avenue in Sartell toward Veterans Drive when my wife pointed out the window and asked what the heck she was seeing. My truck's frame was blocking my view of whatever she was talking about, but I ducked down a bit and saw what looked like a comet with a very long tail.
When we got the truck pulled over to a side street to get a better look, the object(s) looked even weirder. It looked like a chain of 20+ UFOs moving south to north across the night sky, but way too high up in the air to be just drones.
Then, it was just kind of gone and out of sight. We were bewildered and had no explanation for what we had just seen. If I'm being honest we were both a little rattled by the whole experience!
One of my brothers is also a big UFO enthusiast, and apparently he is an even bigger one than I am, because he immediately knew what I had seen.
I texted him with "I HAVE JUST SEEN A UFO! DUDE MY LIFE IS CHANGED FOREVER WE ARE FREAKING OUT!"
So, I will have to wait for my close encounter of the third kind. After getting over the embarrassment, I was able to admit what I saw was still pretty cool!
