HILLSBORO, Ore. (KPTV) - One person has died and another remains hospitalized following a house fire in Hillsboro early Saturday morning.

Hillsboro Fire & Rescue says they responded to a house fire near NE 4th Avenue and NE Milne Court at around 4 a.m. on Saturday.

Firefighters pulled two people out of the house who had serious injuries, and both were taken to the hospital.

One of the victims, who was taken to Legacy Emanuel Medical Center in critical condition, later died as a result of their injuries, according to a release from HF&R on Monday.

The second victim remains in the hospital.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
