Football: FIFA lifts player registration ban on J2 club Kofu

TOKYO (Kyodo) -- J-League second-division outfit Ventforet Kofu announced the lifting Tuesday of a ban on new player registrations imposed on the club by football's international governing body FIFA.

The J2 club said the ban covering the next three transfer windows stemmed from a disagreement with Brazilian side Tombense, who lodged a complaint about the transfer fee payment for former Ventforet forward Getulio.

After negotiations between the clubs, Tombense agreed to the lifting of the sanction.

Kofu president Satoru Sakuma said the club must "reflect on the incidents that occurred this season."

"We will restructure the governance system within the club and strive to prevent a recurrence," Sakuma said in a statement.
