Max George has shared a health update after being rushed to hospital two days before touring with The Wanted in America. The singer has been open about his health struggles over the years and fans have sent messages of support, following the latest personal update.
On Instagram, Max posted a picture of himself inside an MRI machine. The post was captioned: "So, THIS happened 2 days before our tour in America...and no, I didn't go to space. After being taken into A&E twice in a week due to arrhythmias, I had to have a full heart scan.
"Luckily everything was fine and I was given the green light to get back on stage.... just needed a few tweaks. So buzzing I was able to tour US. So many more in the diary for next year. Hopefully I won't be doing this bushtucker trial for a while.. it's GRIM."
In December last year, Max underwent major heart surgery. He had to have a pacemaker fitted and shared an image of his scar with fans.
At the time Max wrote: "Say hello to my little friend! Given the last 10 days, this is the best Christmas present I could've ever wished for.
"Pacemaker is in. Operation took around 2 and half hours. The main issue being some of my veins had collapsed where the wires were meant to go.
"But the surgeons and nurses at the NHS have been incredible. I owe everything to them.
"The surgeon kindly put my pacemaker just underneath a very special tattoo of mine. So I'm sure it's being looked after"
The NHS describes a pacemaker as "a small electrical device" which "sends electrical pulses to your heart to keep it beating regularly and not too slowly."
A pacemaker is connected directly to the heart - with wires called pacing leads inserted into a vein and threaded through blood vessels to the blood pumping organ.
Fans have wished Max a quick recovery.
On Instagram one fan wrote: "glad everything was ok and you were able to get on stage" and another said "We hope you know how strong, brave and inspirational you are Max!"
Further replies included "I am so happy you were given the clear to do the tour. Seeing you guys this year was AMAZING. Hopefully you can be back in 2026! Stay blessed" and "You're so strong Max keep it up proud of you always hopefully see you both very soon."
Other supportive replies included: "There's always light at the end of the tunnel. You're braver and stronger than you think Max. If anyone's got this, it's you, keep being amazing and most importantly keep being you, hope to see you soon."
